It takes more than demanding compensation to be recognized in the industry as a premiere model talent. Agencies represent talents who have acquired proper training, experience, and instructional guidance in what the industry recognizes as a potentially talented Model.

Professional photographers are constantly being insulted by “amateur models” requesting compensation. Often the model arrives with absolutely no experience in posing, professionalism, or any ability to take instructions from the photographer to capture the most marketable and compelling images to salvage the shoot.

Compensation is always negotiable, but at the same time the talent must truly evaluate their portfolio, it is unconventional to demand compensation when your profile consists of point-and-shoot camera photography and network community posing with poor facial expressions.
